TVGDave: Welcome John, glad you could chat with us today. If you've just joined us, we're chatting with "Touched By An Angel" star John Dye. Keep sending in your questions.
John Dye: Hello! Wassup?

Chickydoodles asks: Is it a close-knit group on the Touched By An Angel=20 set?
JD: Yes it is, very close knit. I don't think that you can ever fake that kind of chemistry. What you see is real.

Fluffy_2005 asks: How do you like working with the crew?
JD: I like the crew very much. Obviously it sounds a bit trite, but this truly is the best crew I've ever worked with.

JiveAngel asks: How much longer do you plan to act?
JD: I plan to act as long as I'm being hired! And the checks don't bounce.

JiveAngel asks: Plan to make any more movies?
JD: Yes, I plan to make some movies this summer, hopefully.

sassy_siren01 asks: Do you enjoy working with your costars, Roma Downey and Della Reese?
JD: I enjoy working with Roma and Della very much. It's sort of like being married to two women -- which is very good!

Chickydoodles asks: What episode of the show had the most profound effect on you and Why?
JD: The episode that was most impacting to me was the Christmas show in the fourth season, called The Violin Lesson. Which was about a young man who came home to his family to die.

aleta42 asks: Are you married???
JD: I'm single - way single.

aleta42 asks: How old are you John???
JD: Older than you are. Unless you're 36.

sassy_siren01 asks: What is it like knowing that you are making a huge impact in people's lives?
JD: I don't think about that much, but I know that we all try hard to do a good job, and if people notice, it's all good.

sassy_siren01 asks: What aspects of your personality are reflected in Andrew, if any?
JD: I wish that I were as kind and gentle as Andrew is. Hopefully, he reflects some of the best parts of me.

PastelPartner asks: Speaking on behave of myself and other Androolers are we going to get any major Andrew eps on TBAA?
JD: Who are the Androolers?

karenfern2 asks: How do you think Andrew would respond to what just happened in Colorado?
JD: I think Andrew would be loving to both victims and instigators. As a man, I would find that difficult. This is a tragedy that as a society we have to address, the sooner the better.

Chickydoodles asks: Who is the most memorable guest star that has been on the show?
JD: The most memorable guest star has been Mohammed Ali, for me. However, Rosa Parks was a way close second.

VNAP asks: Several of your costars from Campus Man have been featured on other shows, Dana on NYPD Blue for which she has won an Emmy and Kathleen Wilhoite who was on ER a few years back, do you keep in touch with them?
JD: Actually, I do keep in touch with both Kathleen Wilhoite and Kim Delaney. I saw Kim recently, and I talked to Kathleen recently. They are both very talented women.

mebit24 asks: I wonder if your character encourages you to feel differently about your own imortality?
JD: About ten years ago I had a very close friend die, and I was around when he actually passed away. In seeing that I learned that there should be no fear of death.

DayZGirl69 asks: How long does it take to tape an episode?
JD: Most of our episodes take eight days to shoot. Some a bit longer.

rogue_leader16 asks: What is your favorite movie?
JD: I have so many favorite movies, it depends on my mood. Recently, my favorites are Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf?, and Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Oh, yeah, and Breakfast At Tiffany's.

RBPoolBoy asks: There have been several storylines on TBAA about AIDS. Has that disease touched your life?
JD: Yes, unfortunately it has not only touched my life but the lives of most of the people I know. As a matter of fact with a friend of mine who lost her best friend about four years ago to AIDS.

VNAP asks: I know that the TBAA is filmed in Utah, and you spend time in LA, do you have homes in both locations?
JD: I do.

Brave_62 asks: Do you feel that there is more closeness between your co-stars on TBAA than with the cast of Tour of Duty?
JD: My best friend is Steve Caffrey who played LT on Tour of Duty. So we've been friends then for ten years. With the girls on the show obviously it's a little different.

CerrahKiwi asks: Andrew's personality has taken somewhat of a dive since the 2nd and 3rd seasons of Touched, why is this?
JD: That's a good question. I would direct all enquiries to Martha Williamson.

Emma_Irlam asks: Hi John. I'm in the UK and would love to see your show, is there any plans to put it on UK TV?
JD: Yes, we are on BBC 2.

justaguy1969 asks: John, Whats the best part about being here in Utah to shoot the series?
JD: Utah is a very beautiful state. Moab is magical.

PastelPartner asks: Do you still keep in touch with him and Finola Hughes?
JD: Yes, Finola and I try to stay in touch. I miss her a lot.

Daisey4U asks: John how do you feel about what is going on in Kosovo and do you support our toops being there?
JD: I'm very proud of America for being involved in the Kosovo crisis. If we stand idly by it would be the same as when Europe turned it's back on the extermination of the Jews and others during the Holocaust.

Sweet_N_Petite1 asks: Where are you originally from?
JD: I am from Amory, Mississippi.

RcTheLion asks: what kind of car do you drive?
JD: I have a black Bronco.

alienjacki55 asks: How old were you when you started acting?
JD: I did my first play when I was in the sixth grade.

JKarren asks: John, do you have anything positive to say about growing up in Mississippi?
JD: If everyone had the opportunity in Mississippi the way I did, the world would be a better place.

Sweet_Girl1348 asks: Does Della have as much of an attitude in real life as she does in the show??
JD: The best thing about Della is her sense of directness. And that makes her Della.

sara_victor asks: Did you do this role becouse of your religion or just that you like the part and did you know it would become this popular?
JD: I took this role because I thought it was very unique and because I liked what the show was about. I never imagined that it would end up being such a hit. But I'm glad that I listened to my heart and not my agent.

I_love_beaches asks: Is John Dye your real name or did you change it for TV?
JD: I've been asked that question many times. And I wonder who, except people who are doing serious drugs, would change their name to Dye.

DKSoze asks: Are you going to be seeing any Broadway shows while in New York?
JD: Yes, I'm seeing two. The Weir and Amy's View.

Sunlight_Street asks: Mr. Dye, I know you probably don't have much time, but do you read fan mail when you can?
JD: I actually read all my fan mail. And that's why it often takes me so long to respond to it.

JiveAngel asks: What is your favorite kind of music?
JD: Easy question. The blues.

Ktvine_Teri asks: John, your face lit up when you were talking about your nephew on Regis today...I really enjoyed your interview!
JD: There may be more amazing kids than my nephew Jack, but I doubt it.

Cloey59 asks: Is Roma anything like Monica?
JD: Roma is a very beautiful woman. In that way, they're very much alike.

kimt_9 asks: John Dye do you do anything for charities?
JD: It's very important for all of us to give stuff back, to whom much is given, much is required.

twenty132 asks: Who's the most interesting person you have ever met?
JD: My father. Getting to know him as a man has been fascinating.

JKarren asks: Would you consider doing live theater again?
JD: I j ust did a play with Sally Fields and Christopher Lloyd to raise money for the Sundance Institute. It was great to be on stage again.

vikinggirl99 asks: Read any good books lately?
JD: Yes I have. I love to read. I recently have read two books by Wally Lamb, the first is called She's Come Undone, and the second I Know This Much Is True. Also, I recommend highly Stealing Jesus.

TVGDave: John, thanks for joining us today. Good luck on TBAA and please come back and chat with us again.
JD: It's time to go, I'm hungry. Thanks for hanging out with me online. Hope I chat with you guys again soon. And if you're wondering if I typed all this stuff myself, the answer is a big fat no.
TVGDave: Thanks also for all the questions you sent in. We wish we had the time to answer more of them.
JD: So, here is the guy who typed for me. Say something to the people!
Bryan: -- yo, yo, yo!
